Grey Water Approval Process
Call Out Earth & Water to Design
- We need to visit your home (especially with older homes) or just email us your new house plans. We will consider the technical issues associated with your home and grey water. Your design must show garden beds, fence perimeter, paving, laundry room etc
- Earth & Water to do the grey water design in a scale of 1: 100 and quote you the cost of the kit and the labour to install.

Council Application Forms
- Apply to local government – obtain form “Approval to construct or install an apparatus for treatment of sewerage” (Also known as “Approval etc….a grey water system”). Pay fees & submit, note some council’s are free some charge up to $ 180.00
- Submit two copies of the grey water design with your application form and fee to your local council
- Local council will then approve you construct the grey water system.

Installation
- Install the system. If it is required to cut into the plumbing you need a licensed plumber (c/o Earth & Water). Not required for G Flow
Final Approval
- Once installed contact Council for assessment. The Health Officer might have to visit site and approve the installation as satisfactory & issue a “Permit to use apparatus”.
Rebate
- Send Earth & Water tax invoice showing price and Health Department approval number of grey water unit supplied & Local Government approval forms, then forward to Water Corporation for your rebate.
- From 50% of the value of the system installed, up to $ 500.00
