Perth’s Common Bore Water Problems
Bore water treatment
We work with drillers across Perth to improve water quality so it is potable (able to be used inside) and healthy for gardens.
After a bore has been drilled there are ways of adjusting depth and pump capacity to improve water quality and pressure. However this can be costly and it may not actually fix the problem.
Common Bore water Problems
1. High Mineral Content
Iron, calcium, copper and manganese are the main minerals that visibly have an effect on people homes. They stain surfaces inside and outside homes as they accumulate and oxidise.
Orange and brown stains are caused by iron and calcium. See our page on Iron Staining for specific information.
Blue and green stains inside bathrooms and washbasins are copper.
2. Low Water Pressure
When the bore pump is too small for the given water usage and dispersion area above ground then the water pressure drops causing low water pressure.
This may mean only a single shower can run at a time while no other water using devices are on at the same time. This is definitely an annoying problem that people refuse to allow.
Luckily we install pressure boosting systems!
Perth bore water access UNCONFINED aquifiers. This means contaminants and run-off will filter down and into the ground water which bores then access and bring back up to houses as potable water.
Contaminants in Perth commonly include salt particularly in suburbs close to the Swan River and ocean, chemicals that change wate acidity (pH) such as detergents and washing powder and finally industrial run-off which is far less common but can be harmful.
These contaminants affect garden and plants health by changing acidity and salinity levels which effect nutrient uptake and slow growth over time.
The healthiest gardens and safest drinking water runs through water treatment systems that rebalance and invigorate water nutrients to healthy levels for people and plants!
Fixing old problems
Old established houses run into these common problems as bore holes, water treatment systems and outdated plumbing deteriorate.
We remove broken systems and install new ones that are more efficient and safer. Water quality improves and over time gardens will benefit from higher nutrient uptake and less unwanted minerals.
It is often our job to fix water treatment systems that were installed by other companies. Unfortately most companies don’t do sophisticated water treatment test or know how to interpret the results which tell then how to fix the water quality.
Our expertise comes from comprehensively understanding water analysis and designing systems that uniquely deal with the results.
Simple but sophisticated.
